blueberry tart with lemon custard filling.
behold, the glorious georgia peach.
post-farmers market.
we have just harvested the first batch of these beauts, the scarlet runner beans.
a summer favorite here: smeared neufchatel on cheap white bread, garden tomatoes & cukes, sprinkled with salt & pepper. (and never served without iced coffee).
so, not really summery, per se, but rhubarb pie. this was foreign to me in every way. i'd not only never made a rhubarb pie before now, but i'd never even eaten a piece of rhubarb pie until now. it is a new favorite for me, and i think the kids enjoyed it also. (last piece shown above. it got ugly).
this is a perfect picture of summer around here. cold to room temperature foods, casually laid out during the day, wearing bathing suits all day, and bubbly water over ice. what you don't see: terry playing his guitar, me flipping through magazines, the kids playing (or fighting) together, and mounds of laundry. i love summer.

Are you trying to make me show up to your house uninvited and hang out until you get so sick of me you throw me right out the door?
'Cause if you're not, you're failing miserably. ;)
I think you need to start making food for my house. I'm pretty sure the whole family would be uber appreciative. Love the pic with the forks.
Mmmm, rhubarb pie is my favorite, well, ext to key lime pie... I have been away for a spell, but I am glad I have caught up on some of what I have missed. :) Can't believe how grown up your girls are getting!
