I'm neither sure of the origins of the title or the story behind this cute rodent narrative. (Fiona is asleep now, but if her explanation is good I'll post an update tomorrow.) All I do know is that this was the title she gave Terry, and this is so telling of my daughter.
While her 3 year old sister has a wider vocabulary than her (granted Neve could talk the horns off a billy goat), clearly she has a lot she's thinking about and wants to say. And I love seeing it spill out onto paper.
My mother (an old fashioned Italian woman) is positive that it has something to do with "serving a man". I'm sure she was clutching her chest with bursting pride as she made this observation. Ah, madonne.

Until now I thought I just wanted a bunch of boys with their spiders and mud and such. But, your girls with their crazy fabulous imaginations and rocking hilarious stories, they make me go "Sigh. Can I have one please?"
And, the awesome Italian momma, can I have one of those too. Not to replace mine (who is terrifically fabulous herself)...just in addition. ;)
Is that a do-rag on Don? In Mina Ro's defense it does look like Tiny is serving Don some pizza. Either that or Don has asked for Tiny's hand in marriage by giving her "five golden rings" on a toast point. It's all still very Italian, though, as it still involves love and food.
I'm afraid I used up all my clever comments on Facebook. But you should know that as I was blow drying my hair earlier, I found my mind wandering and after awhile realized I'd been thinking about this drawing. So see? Her artwork is positively haunting.
I love it! Really creative and awesome... I'm pretty sure that Tiny is giving Don a Valentine, and Don responded that he loves Tiny and Tiny was incredulous, hence the little exchange.
Or maybe I'm projecting. ;P
PS I'm really curious what the thing on the left is, because it looks like an interesting angle on a mountain goat to me... Maybe the mountain goat is a rival for Don's affections...
