The girls are in the backseat playing with their dolls. Fiona has the coveted "special doll" (the doll with all of her hair and no pen marks on her face), while Neve has the one that looks like she just escaped an abusive relationship with Ken.
Neve: (in the voice of her doll) "Um, excuse me? Will you go to the carnival with me?"
Fiona: (in the voice of her doll) "No. Sorry. I have to spend the night at my friend's house."
Neve: (in the voice of her doll) "Well, maybe I can go?"
Fiona: (in the voice of her doll) "Probably not."
Neve: (in her real voice now) "Fiona, she wants to play with your girl! Let her go too!"
Fiona: (in her real voice) "Shhhh... she's sleeping."
Neve: (whispering) "When will she wake up?"
Fiona: (whispering) "Tomorrow."
Neve: (still whispering) "Is that like one sleep and one wake-up?"
Fiona: (nods.)
Neve: (in the voice of her doll) "I'll just wait."
she's still waiting.

My facebook post this afternon was: "Why should I watch TV when I can just spy on my kids during their pretend play." Julie M responded I should check out your blog. I love it!
One of my favorites from my kids is the dramatic breathing (even if they are standing still) that accompanies an exciting pretend situation!
Good stuff.
Oh my. Oh. my. Poor Barbie? Poor Neve? Where do I start? Why am I smiling and also feeling slightly sick to my stomach sad at the same time?
Will you make me a new blog header? Yours are all sooooo prettttyyy.
