Calico Critters

My mother-in-law bought the entire line of Calico Critters at Christmas for Fiona and Neve. Unlike many of the gifts they say they want (but only play with for a few hours on Christmas morn), these toys are actually played with on a daily basis by my girls. Mom, they adore these little fuzzy families. (And truthfully, I personally love them so much I've been caught decorating their house and changing their clothes after the girls go to sleep. Look at the little buttons on their outfits!)

{this is my favorite- it looks like a little polygamist-compound homeschool group or something.}

{and I can't pretend like i found this before taking the picture. it was my own little juvenile toy photo shoot. but neve laughed!}

Dot, Alice, other baby girls (and I guess boys too?) out there, tell your moms that you need some Critters now! Check out the rediculously cute collection here.

Oh my, I love Calico Critters. Believe it or not, I actually have three that were MINE when I was little in Alice's room on her toyshelf. They look exactly the same now as they did then. The tiny details on their clothes are so adorable. They may possibly have nicer clothes than I do. They definitely have flowerier toilets.

Those are too cute! Something tells me Levi wouldn't be impressed though. Would it be crazy to get some for myself??!!

I didn't buy the entire line....there are still Dalmation and Panda families! :-)

Okay dude, I blogged about you a little bit. And linked to your blog a lot of times. And... posted pictures of my Calico Critters. So NO Madeline, it would not be crazy for you to get some for yourself-- HA.

Let's try not to put homeschoolers and polygamist compounds in the same sentence. Please.

this gives me hope. I am not looking forward to the princess dressing, doll carrying, barbie loving drama that comes along with having a little girl. Calico Critters are welcome in my house. I can see it now - Henry's army men, transformers and Calico Critters having tea together.

oh, SAHM-I-AM, sorry for my poor choice of word combo.

madeline, my mother just told me in all seriousness that i should collect these for myself and keep them protected from the kids (until they're old enough to appreciate them).

and terry has his collection of "man toys" (vintage transformers, vintage AT-AT from StarWars, etc) that he won't let the girls touch. and i'm pretty sure he would be very embarrassed if he knew i just outed him and his "man toys", but that's what he gets for not reading my blog.

ROFL I thought "polygamist compound homeschool group" was HILARIOUS.

And I was homeschooled, so I'm totally allowed the laugh.

Very cute wee photo shoot!
